Teens and Tweens by Charis Patrick
TEEN WISDOM
DO TEENS HAVE WISDOM
Teens, when they reached the age 16, always were sure that
parents’ goals in life were to make their life miserable. They felt manipulated and angry. Some relationship began to deteriorate. Teens never realize that actually parents are
having a difficult time understanding them.
Some tips from www.radical-parenting.com:
- Don’t ask ‘answer-questions’
These questions make the teens and tweens defensive because it
is clear parents already have an opinion on the situation and don’t really want
to know what the teen think. Sometimes,
parents think they know the answers to all the teens’ problems. This makes the teens feel like they are not
being trusted.
- Times are different
Society as a whole is so much more competitive. With the internet, communication has moved
fast forward. Facebook and the like add
a new layer of complication to the teen’s relationships.
- Pushing the limits
It is known fairly well that teens and tweens like to take risk.
Find time to ask your teens or tweens…you may be surprised at
the ‘teen wisdom’ that exist,
