GUIDE NOT CONTROL

The more control we have over ourselves,
The happier and freer we will feel

Managerial skills are developed through inner strength.  Words like confidence, understanding, responsibility and communication have been used to explain effective delegation.  These terms cannot be qualified or quantified.  To be an effective manager, these skills are vital as they refer to a person’s ability to instill confidence in the people they have charge over.

Managers are becoming more and more aware that enhancement of their soft skills is equally, if not more, important than the acquisition of technical skills.  This is a real problem wherein the young staffs do not want control; instead they want to be guided.

Having confidence in the staff and focusing on the good enhance their capacity for effective management.  Too much control implies less trust.  When we are spiritually aware, we recognise that just as others cannot control us, in the same way, we too should not control others, nor should we have the need or desire to do so.  The more we try to control others, the less influence we have over them and the more disturbances we bring within ourselves.
