51
TO MOTIVATE YOUR PEOPLE, FIRST JUST RELAX
A Frightened captain makes a frightened
- Lister Sinclair, Playwright/ Broadcaster -

There are only two principles that you need to get to play great music or to live a great life: concentrate and relaxation (Rodney Mercado, Music teacher/ motivator of artists)
People do not realize that they’re at their peak state when in the state relaxation.  When we strain for success instead of relaxing, things can be out of control and stumble over.  When people get nervous, they get tense and their performance drops.

52
DON’T THROW THE QUIT SWITCH
Most people succeed because they are determined to
People of mediocre ability sometimes achieve outstanding success because they don’t know when to quit.
- Geoge Ailen, Football coach -

Every human being has a certain little-known brain part called a Quit Switch.  But not everyone knows it.  A human being is built to persist until a goal is reached.  Somewhere along the way we learn about the Switch.
The Quit Switch is something to focus on, learn about and make work for you instead of against.
The Switch flipping habit is interpreted as willpower, courage, drive or desire.  Make it a habit not to throw the Quit Switch early in any process.  The less of a quitter you are, the more of a motivator you become.

53
LEAD WITH ENTHUSIASM
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm
- Ralph Waldo Emerson -

Be enthusiastic!  Especially when you have something to fire up your team.
Enthusiasm is contagious.  People love to be around it.  It can make people laugh with pleasure.
The way to be enthusiastic is to act enthusiastic.

54
ENCOURAGE YOUR PEOPLE TO CONCENTRATE
The first law of success is concentration,
to bend all the energies to one point
and to go directly to that point,
looking neither to the right nor to the left
- William Matthews, Journalist -

By total internal focus on what we are attempting to produce, and excluding everything else, we will be able to perform fantastically in the face of extraordinary odds.  Show your people how to use distraction to focus even more.

55
INSPIRE INNER STABILITY
Becoming a leader is synonymous with becoming yourself.  It is precisely that simple, and it is also that difficult
- Warren Bennis -

People look so hard for stability.  The Key to stability is to look inside of you.  Life is not about what you want.  Life is about doing what others expect of you.

56
GIVE UP BEING RIGHT
I must follow the people
Am I not their leader?
- Benjamin Disraeli -

A really strong, motivational leader who is admired and respected is one who does not have to be right about anything.
Being right is never going to wetter in the long run.  What matter is achieving something.
A Wonderfully great leader bring and the best in their people.

57
WAKE YOURSELF UP
Too many people are thinking of security
instead of opportunity.
They seem to be more afraid of life than death.
- James F Bymes, Former Secretary of States -

A leader need to build the inner strength to increase the awareness of what life/world/business community is like.
Leaders need to understand what people are like today, how they’re perceiving life.

58
ALWAYS SHOW THEM
I hear and I forget
I see and I remember
I do and I understand
- Confucius -

A true leader, a really powerful leader will consciously motivate others to great performance and will show them how to do it.  A true leader will figure out what they want their people to do and then will go in and demonstrate it.
To really motivate, talk less and demonstrate more.

59
FOCUS LIKE A CAMERA
Most of the successful people I’ve known are
the ones who do more listening then talking
- Bernard Baruch -

Focused leadership is the ability on the part of a leader to be absolutely focused.
The leader who comes into meeting carrying his electronic organizer and while he’s sitting in the meeting, he’ll be returning email, picking up his vibrating call phone every now and then, and also trying to be in the meeting is thinking that they are multi-tasking.  But in reality he’s just not focus.
People will feel diminished by that, as in the leader has no time for them.

10
THINK OF MANAGEMENT AS EASY
Always think of what you have to do as easy
and it will be
- Emile Coue, Psychologist -

A thought is more than a thought, it creates your reality.  It is important to see the power that thought has in the world of leadership.  Leadership requires high level of humanity.  Thought is the key to be successful at motivating other.
