Five steps to learning

1.    Listen in class.
·         We remember what we hear
·         To be honest, aural memory for most people isn’t perfect
·         The trick
-       Look at learning guides before go in
-       Focus on listening to the most important
-       Ask teacher/presenter to always present ‘what you should take away from the class/session’.

2.    Read the book.
·         Read over the material as soon as you can after class/session.
·         Quick reading will enforce what you’ve just heard.
·         Highlight important section in the notes.

3.    Talk to someone about the subject
·         Discussions aids memory especially if it promotes understanding.

4.    Test yourself by pretending you’re writing an answer to an exam question.

5.    Teach what you’ve learned.
