Recruitment consultants and HR department increasingly scan for key competencies when selecting candidates for interviews.  What recruiters really want to know to know is how you will perform in the job.  The core competencies need to be clearly demonstrated within the first 2/3 of your application.

According to Wilson Wong, Senior Researcher, The Charted Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), candidate need to:
1.   Find out the 'WHY'
Why the organisation is recruiting.  This will help to understand the kind of candidate they want to recruit tip your application in your form.

2.   Determine the 'WHAT'
What the employer is looking for.  You need to match the essential criteria listed by the recruited point by point.  Reflect on your experience and make it relevant to the requirement of the job.

3.   Demonstrate the 'HOW'
How you will do the job.  The skill is down to how much homework you put into the context of application and the culture of the organistion.
