DENNIS INSPIRATION: 6. LEARN MORE EARN MORE

Many people believe that the best way to improve your future earnings is by getting a college education.  There are also exceptional cases of wealthy businesspeople that dropped out of college but are successful in life.  But on average, it is found that people who go to college generally earn more than those who don’t.  This is because people with less education have fewer choices in life.
Learning more is one of the smartest decisions.  Education can change and shape you in ways that you might not imagine.  The knowledge, skills and experience gain will make you to better able to adapt greater variety of jobs and careers.  As you move forward in life, you will encounter new ideas and challenges; and along the way you will:
  • Build knowledge, skills and brainpower
  • Discover new passions
  • Follow and satisfy your curiosity
  • Learn more about yourself
  • Bond with new friends
  • Prepare for a future in which you’re better equip
What a person learns in school, and picked up on the job will not be sufficient to carry them through their lives.  ‘Moving up’ often means moving on to a new job.  With globalization and technology, there exists a greater need for us to continually update their skills and add new credentials.
Most workers pursue new education or training opportunities.  There are many ways to make adult learning more convenient:
  1. Specific degree programs
  2. Create ‘e-universities’ for mid-career adult
  3. Make it easier to earn credit from previous education
  4. Incentives for colleges that link courses to local employer needs
  5. Make college application more realistic and user-friendly
  6. More information on online learning websites
Knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge to achieve results for other people is one of the most important factors in today’s ever changing world.  Thus, the earning ability is largely dependent upon the knowledge skill and ability to combine that knowledge and skill in such a way to contribute value for customers.
The rule of the thumb here is ‘the future belongs to the competent’.  Only those who are very good at what they do will conquer.  As the world changes, our accumulated knowledge and experience becomes obsolete.  Continuous self development will be most desirable in the unavoidable change and restructuring.  To be able to stay at the top, we must continuously learn more.  Continuously building mental assets will ensure maintenance of high return on investment.

Learn more to earn more
Develop knowledge and skill to be valuable and productive

By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
And third, by experience, which is the bitterst
