The strength of any culture lies in the family values that have withstood deterioration throughout the ages.  the very survival of a marriage or family depends on what one can get from one another rather than through the traditional values like love and trust.  it's a wonder that more divorces and broken marriages are on the rise due to couples asserting their right to individual freedom from meaningless marriage.

in today's environment, both husbands and wives have to work at building and keeping their family together.  Women of today are looking at their life partners to play a more active role in raising the family.  it was found that the main reason for the high rate of divorces worldwide is the lack of understanding towards the dual roles women now hold as homemakers and breadwinners.

the integrity and happiness of a family rests on the integrity of each individuals.  when one is at peace with oneself and is clear about one's role in the family, then the question of freedom does not arise.  Freedom is the right to be who you are.  Most of the time it's the chain inside us that is binding us.  We just have to learn to break free.

in marriage, we don't look for perfection in each other.  the best is to try to develop patience, harmony, and most of all. give each other room to grow.  Even as the world around us changes, cultural and family values have to be preserved.
