Hair fall has been an issue especially among women. Most hair fall problem may be caused by
demodex mites, silent hair destroyer parasite.
Demodex mites cannot be seen with human eyes. Demodex are milky white translucent mite found
breeding in hair follicles and sebaceous glands of mamals (particularly human
and dogs). The two types of demodex are:
- D folliculorum found in follicles
- Dubreris thrives in sebaceous glands
These mites take up nutrients from the hair roots and damage the wall of
the affected cells. They cause scalp
inflammation by excreting lipase and producing secretions and decomposing in
the follicles when they are dead.
Demodex could cause:
- Skin disorders such as folliculitis, oily scalp, scalp breakouts, scalp sensitivity, initiate hyper keratosis which clog the pore and prevent sebum outflow causing hair fall
- Excessive oil production
- Shorten the hair growth phase
- Weaken hair roots
Get rid of demodex mites
