Purple Your People

2. Visions, Missions, Values and all of
that
Visions, missions and values are
simply what an organization stands for.
For quick and easy definition:
Vision
-
What organization aspires to be
Mission
- The purpose of the organization
Values
-
Important shared benefits that define organizational culture
A long mission and/or vision
statements that not even the CEO can remember is not favored because it’s
essential that every member and potential member can easily understand what the
organization is all about; what it stand for, and where it is going.
Leaders at all levels must live the
organization values every day and must never ever compromise them. Define the organization values. Talk about it every day so that they become
memorable. Find a way to make sure
people actually remember them, relate to them, like them and feel proud about
them. Use mnemonics and acronyms to make it easier for people to remember.
Remember this three (3) things:
1. Keep it simple and memorable
2. Leaders and champions must always live the message
3. Feed your values daily to keep them alive
