DO BOSSES REALLY KNOW HOW WELL THEY ARE DOING

Bosses live an unreal atmosphere.  They may or may not know how well they are doing.  The assessment made by the staff, by authorities and by clients may differ greatly.  The staff is the one who will suffer or benefit most directly from the boss’s style and behavior.  Issues pertaining to this matter are:
  • Perceptions of the staff may differ greatly
  • They might not all tell the truth
  • Some staff try to stay within the boss’s good books
  • Some staff may actually felt sorry for the boss
Only the very weak and insecure bosses worries about whether they are liked or not.  But insensitive bosses are almost unaware that they are being hated or despised.  Bosses unawareness happens because most of the time the staff kept themselves as far away as possible from the boss.  Or the boss might have put their ‘shutters’ up.
In some cases, bosses can be disliked or resented because they need to introduce necessary changes.  Friendship among management team sometimes makes it harder, since there’s this element about hurting feeling comes in.
