(Teaser extraction from the book)

AFTER ADAM’S A.S. DEATH

Sheeth took over as head of the clan and the Prophet.  By this time, Adam’s a.s. descendent had been split into two clans, the descendants of Qabil, who had run away to live in the plains, and those who remained with Adam a.s. in the mountains.  The men in the mountain were handsome but their women were not as good looking.  On the plains, from among the followers of Qabil, the men were not so handsome while their women were beautiful.
Iblis grabbed this opportunity to instigate and spread more mischief among them.  Disguised as a boy, Iblis went to live among Qabil’s descendants on the plains and started to teach the people how to sing and enjoy music.
The people from the mountains soon came to hear about it and were curious.  They then fixed a festival once a year where they would get together to celebrate.  Soon, some men from the mountains were seduced by the beautiful women from the plains and they started to sneak into the plains.  News of the beauty of the women of the plains spread.  More and more men from the mountain came down to the plains to see for themselves.  Soon the men and women, who by now had mixed freely, committed adultery.
Prophet Sheeth tried his best to restore order and ensure that Allah’s s.w.t. commands against committing adultery and other sins were observed.  But Iblis had successfully tempted the men from the mountains with the beauty of the women.  The people from the mountains migrated down to the plains in search of worldly fun and pleasures.
The situation remained until the time of Prophet Idris a.s. who descended from Prophet Sheeth, the third Prophet after Adam a.s. and Sheeth a.s.  When Idris a.s. saw the immorality and decadence spreading, he legislated Jihad against this evil and corruption,  Idris a.s. put together an army and attacked the people of the plain.  Qabil’s men were defeated and the survivors taken captive.  The war is the first recorded Jihad in history and Idris a.s. is the first Prophet to fight a war of Jihad for the cause of Allah s.w.t.
