CHEER UP

What gives people most enjoyment, pleasure, and satisfaction

  • involvement and absorption in an activity;
  • doing whatever it is well;
  • freedom over one's actions;
  • meeting a challenge;
  • problem solving;
  • helping others and being useful (whether in direct or indirect ways);
  • feeling appreciated;
  • companionship;
  • sharing problems, jokes and almost anything with others.

What cheers people up

  • being greeted;
  • smiles on the faces of others — friends, colleagues, customers, one's staff, one's bosses;
  • absurd events;
  • jokes.
