STORIES OF THE PROPHETS
IN AL-QURAN
(Lessons that we can extract, lessons that we can apply)
(Teaser extraction from the book)

INTRODUCTION
Stories as an important approach in the delivery of His message to mankind through our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.  Prophets are men chosen and sent by Allah s.w.t. to guide the human race.

THE CREATION OF ADAM a.s.
According to a Hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad, Al-Tirmidzi, Ibnu Habban, and many others, Allah s.w.t. created Adam a.s. from a handful that the angel Jibril gripped from the whole earth.  Man was created on the last hour of Friday.
In a Hadith narrated by Imam Muslim, Anas reported that Allah’s s.w.t. messanger said that Adam a.s. was left for a while without soul.  Iblis then curiously circled this new creation wondering what it was and discovered that it was hollow inside.  When Iblis saw that, he knew that it must be a weak creature, unlike Jinn who do not have an abdomen.
In part of a Hadith related by Al-Tabary, Adam a.s. was left lifeless without a soul for fourty nights and, during this time, Iblis would kick Adam a.s. and there would be clattering sound just like when one hits an empty jar made of pottery.
The Angel passed by Adam a.s. before the soul was breathed unto him.  They were more fearful of Adam a.s.  Iblis told the Angels not to be afraid of Adam a.s.and that if he (Iblis) had his own way, he would destroy this puny creation called man and, if man had authority over Iblis, then Iblis would disobey him.  Iblis could not understand why man was created and certainly did not have any respect for him.  He considered man weak and made from mere earth, unlike Iblis who was made from fire.
